Sierra Conservation Release Path

Sierra Conservation Center is operated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, not the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office. Its physical address is 5100 O'Byrnes Ferry Road, Jamestown, CA 95327, and the inmate mailing address uses 5150 O'Byrnes Ferry Road with the assigned unit number. The facility phone listed by CDCR is 209-984-5291.

A person released from SCC should be searched through CDCR CIRIS, BPH parole eligibility and hearing records, CDCR victim-services notification where eligible, and DAPO parole contacts. The county jail release pages do not confirm SCC discharge.

Confirm an SCC Release

2. Review the current location, commitment county, admission date, and BPH date or outcome fields when shown.

SCC's public release status is statewide. CIRIS is the public incarcerated-records search, BPH handles parole-hearing schedules and eligibility concepts, and DAPO handles parole after release. SCC Is Not County Jail

The most important Sierra Conservation Center distinction is jurisdiction. SCC sits in Tuolumne County, but it is a California state prison. The Sheriff does not calculate CDCR prison release dates, run BPH parole hearings, or supervise state parole after prison release. A Tuolumne Superior Court record may show the sentence that sent a person to CDCR, but CDCR owns the prison custody record.

That distinction also affects searches for released people. A person not found in Citizen RIMS may have never been in the county jail. A person at SCC may have a CDCR number, commitment county, admission date, BPH hearing data, and DAPO parole path. Use the state system first when the facility is SCC.

BPH Hearing Records for SCC

Some SCC release questions involve BPH rather than a fixed discharge date. BPH schedules include hearing date, time, location, and whether the hearing is in person or by video.
